I AM SO BLESSED

I absolutely love my neigbourhood! You know, I am really blessed because each time I step out of the gate of my house, I am welcomed by so many wonderful, beautiful living things. There are so many unique creatures that are around my neighbourhood, and most of the days, I would literally come across unusual creatures - creatures I've never seen before. Sometimes I have the opportunity to get them on camera, but there are times I couldn't . Nevertheless, to be able to behold them with my eyes, I count my self very blessed.

I am so blessed because, I get the opportunity to see the sunrise in the eastern horizon every morning and sunset in the western horizon in the evenings. And my, the sun is most beautiful when it's setting. Such perfect spherical shape!

I am so blessed because everyday as I look out of my window in the cool evenings, from the clouds above will beam down light rays. Standing at the window and looking at those rays give me such a heavenly assurance of my Father's sovereignty. Rays are undoubtedly, one of the most beautiful sights in the sky. I could image the bright light that shone on Paul, blinding him.

I am so blessed that I have the opportunity to see a great variety of birds such as: kingfishers, eagles, sparrows, storks, magpies, swifts, grey ducks, humming birds and a few more which I cannot identify! I've not known of any neighbourhood with such varied kinds of birds.

I am so blessed because I am able to see insects that causes me to wonder in awe at how wonderfully God had made them. They come in all sizes, shapes, and colors. Each with its own uniqueness! To this date I've seen 7 different damselflies, 5 different flies, 4 different ladybirds, 4 different grasshoppers, 5 different dragonflies, 6 different butterflies, and 5 different spiders around my neigbourhood. They are all stunning in their own ways. I wish I could capture all of them in pictures but some wouldn't allow me to do so. However some were 'vain' enough to allow me to get some shots of their pretty faces! =D

I am so blessed that I belong to an awesome God! I am so blessed that I am a child of the Most High God. I am so blessed that I was created by the Creator. I am so blessed that he made me in His image. If these creatures - which weren't made in His image are yet so amazingly beautiful - we then must definitely be His priceless masterpieces!!

The most historic event in the U.S probably the world - the inauguration of the first African-American president - President Barack H. Obama. The first black to sit on the presidency sit of the U.S. Obama's Inauguration is today. It's the final day for George W. Bush and a new start for Barack Obama.

I can hardly believe that I am about to witness the most historic Inauguration in the history of the United States. When I come to think about it, it's really hard to comprehend the fact that a Black now will lead the U.S.

You see, I'm a homeschooler under the American program; therefore, I do not learn about Malaysian history, instead American history. I've studied alot on the history of America - from the Age of Exploration, to the birth of America, and to the presidents that lead the country. Never have I read, an African-American taking the presidency seat.

If you are familiar with American history, you will know that the Blacks were not very well accepted and treated, instead they were mistreated. This lead to slavery, segregation, and lack of rights in the U.S. But as we read on the history of America, many great leaders, presidents, and civil right movement activists fought for the freedom of the Blacks, whom some of them were President Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr., W. E. B DuBious, Rosa Parks, Malcolm X, and others.

After 54 years, since the beginning of the civil rights movement in 1955 to this day, finally the dream that Martin Luther King Jr. had, came to pass. Barack Obama now sits on the presidency seat!

As I looked at his picture in Wikipedia, I find it hard to believe that the man I was looking at, who is a Black, is the 44th president of the U.S. It's really amazing!

Now, I'm just waiting to read about him in the Lifepacs. It will not be publish so soon, but I await to read it! =) I'm proud to able to witness and be a part of this historic event!

A PEEK

It's been exactly ten days since my New Year's post. I had one asking, "What happened to posting everyday?" and another exclaimed "It's time to blog." So, I made it a point to update a new post today. =) So here you go!

What a busy first week it has been! There were so many things I had to catch up with. I had to complete my half-done work, take a couple of tests, and mark all the activities I did during the holidays. Getting back to work mode and laying off the holiday mood was difficult. =)

Well, nothing interesting really happened this week. No events, no outings, just studies. Last note, Chinese New Year is coming soon. All the food, the ang paus, and the shoppings! =)

BE FRUITFUL IN EVERYTHING

Just yesterday it was 2008, and today, its the start of a whole new beginning. =) A new year of many fruitfulness. This year's theme is: Fruitful in the midst of affliction. You might exclaim, AFFLICTION?? Well, don't get all worried and upset. As one of my friend had said in her blog:

Malaysia's economy might be hit hard. Parents may face difficulties in their career, finance, etc. Students may get stressed up due to school, especially those who will be taking PMR and SPM. Some may encounter conflicts. Some may succumb to illness but... Let just all commit our lives to God and ask Him for guidance and protection...He'll be there, for you, and for me in whatever circumstance, whenever and wherever. Let us all be fruitful in the midst of affliction! Have faith in Him and we'll walk a triumphant year yet again...because God will make a way! ( taken from YokePei)

This year may not be smooth sailing all the way. There will be times when you will be high up on the mountain, but there will also be moments where you will be in the deep valley, but remember to keep your eyes focus on the Lord and He will definitely carry you through from strength to strength and from glory to glory until you receive the mark of victory!

I'm ready and prepared to face what lies ahead of me this year, are you? =)

It's the Eve of a New Year!

I love countdowns, don't you? Haha.The whole world is celebrating this important event! Without doubt, everyone is in such eagerness to see the clock strike 12:00 and hear the "gong" that will officially mark the entrance into a new, blessed year -2009. =)

2008 has been such a fruitful year for me! A year of many new beginnings and new trends. I must say that God has taught me a great deal throughout this year. I had many firsts this year, many priceless lessons, and many cherishable moments. =)

As many priceless lessons there are, one of the most vital lesson I've learned this year is summed up in the following quote:

When we ask God for strength,

He gives us difficulties to make us strong.

When we ask God for wisdom,

He gives us problems to solve.

When we ask God for prosperity,

He gives us brain and brawn to work.

When we ask God for courage,

He gives us troubled people to help.

When we ask God for favors,

He gives us opportunities

In truth we received nothing we wanted...

But instead, everything we needed!

Isn't He a wonderful God? He works in ways we cannot see, ways beyond our human- mind. We tend to be short-sighted, but our God is a far-sighted God! So, as the year draws to an end, let us look back one last time and be thank God for His goodness, His grace, and His mercy! Not to forget all the lesson that you have learned, remember it and carry it to the New Year 2009.

With that, let us together usher into a New Year with great confident and assurance, knowing that God has prepared a wonderful and blessed year for each an everyone of us!

So, put on your seat belts tight! Brave yourself! We are off onto a whole new adventure! =P

BLESSED CHRISTMAS

MERRRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU!!!

It's finally the 25th of December! The season, the event, the day everybody's been waiting for! =) We had Christmas Celebration Service today! It was packed! Church members from PJ came over to attend our service, new comers came to hear the true meaning of Christmas, and an orchestra that came to perform a musical drama entitled, "the Sounds of Christmas"

It was fabulous! Oh, in case you didn't know, the orchestra that performed was from PJ church!

Later that day, my family and I had lunch at Boston, a restaurant in Aeon, B.T. That day, we bumped into so many of our church members. One after the other! Some were there for lunch, like us, others were buying gifts, and there were others that wanted to walk around! =)

The food was delicious. The portion was big and the price was reasonable. It was such a filing meal! Go try it out if you haven't! You won't regret! =D

I've not been posting up pictures lately. So I've got my pictures. I'll stop talking for now, and allow the pictures to do the talking! Enjoy!

LOVE, JOY, PEACE!

It's the eve of Christmas! Don't you just feel the feeling of joy and love?? The spirit of giving and blessing?? I sure hope you do! It's definitely a busy month for everyone since there is so much shopping to do! The malls are packed with people! My sister said Midvalley was so packed that at every turn, you'll literally bump into a person! Besides that, its the crazy sales and discounts that attracts so many people! Oh wells!

Remember the blog-post marathon that I mentioned in my latest post? haha! Today marks the day of the blog-post marathon! =p Come back every day, and you'll find a new post! And that's a promise! =)

For the first topic of my blog-post marathon is the surprise birthday I had! My birthday surprise this year was very simple but I have to say that I had a lot of fun, especially playing the water fight! haha! Before I move on, a little glimpse on how I was lured into the trap and being fooled!

It all begun on a beautiful, sunny, bright morning of 14 December 2008! Deborah, my younger little sister, came into the room and woke me up. She told me that she was going to the elephant sanctuary with her friends, and a guy from the Outback! Of course I immediately jumped off the bed! The elephant sanctuary?? What a way to start my day! I got ready, prepared the camera, and took extra clothes, just in case the "elephants" splashes water at me! When all was set, we left home and met at Deborah's friend's house!

Now, here was where everything begun to change! You see, I was so excited about the fact that I was going to the elephant sanctuary that I did not suspect anything! But that is what surprises are meant for, right?

So when I entered the door of the house, I was greeted by loud shouts that echoed, "SURPRISE"!! So loud was the shout that I actually backed-off! I was shocked beyond measure! And the first statement that I made after recovering from the shock was, "So? There's no elephants??"

The whole elephant sanctuary plan was just a big hoax. It was used to lure me to the house! How embarrassing to be fooled twice! =( But I was glad that I saw so many "special elephants"!!! You know what I mean, right??? ehehehe!

All in all, I absolutely had a great time! Special thanks to: Deborah, Crystal, Rebekah, Renee, Joel, Graham, Riley, and most importantly, Auntie Karen for giving the green light to use her house and paying the water bill!!
But the most important of all is God for giving me such thoughtful, wonderful, and loving friends!

STILL THE BEST

Hey folks!!! I've not blog for almost 21 days! I know I've kept you waiting for my next new post, but unfortunately I couldn't! I was really busy the past few weeks! The preparation for the GY Camp '08, celebrating birthdays', spending time with my love ones, Royal Rangers Carolling and of course, the four days that I spent in Peace Haven, Genting Highlands for the Youth Camp! =)

I've really been enjoying my holidays. If you were to ask me, I'd say that this is one of the best school holidays that that I've had in such a long time! So many events kept me on my feet, hence prevented me from rotting at home due to boredom. haha! My friends had a simple birthday surprise for me. I actually got fooled again and this time by my younger sister! What a tragedy! I'll elaborate more on that in my upcoming post! This post is to give a glimpse of what has been happening to me during this past few weeks!'

Well, today's' already the 22nd which leaves us with 3 more days to the long await event, or season of the year which is - CHRISTMAS! 9 more days before a whole new year 2009 begins, and 12 more days before school reopens!!! Everything is going by so fast. Even before you realize it, it has already pass!

I've been taking alot of pictures because there has been so many events. Most people enjoy looking at the images, rather than reading the post. Therefore, I've made a point that each time any event comes up, I'd get ready my camera so that I can blog about it and have pictures for you to enjoy!! See, blog viewers, that shows how much I care for you! hahaha =D

This will just be another short post from me to you! I'll get the ready the pictures as soon as possible. Once that is done, I'm going to have a blog-post marathon! XD

Four days of absence and no updates! Where was I? What was I doing? haha

Well, you've guessed it! The Vacation Bible School which I mentioned in my previous post! I apologize for not updating from day to day as I have intended to do so. I was dead tired! I've been sleeping so early these four days. The earliest I've slept was at 8! Ya, that was how tired I was!

Anyway, today marks the end of another successful, fun-filled, joyful, exciting, and tiring Vacation Bible School! I'm pretty sure, many are looking forward to next year's VBS. I definitely am!! =)

Before I move on any further, a brief introduction to this year's VBS theme,mascots, and Bible verses would be appropriate. This year's 2008 VBS theme is : POWER LAB - Discovering Jesus' Miraculous Power!!! By the name, you can conclude that it involves laboratory devices and instruments such as test-tubes, vials, beakers, thermometers, microscopes, and all the other instruments that are found in labs. It also includes scientists, or professors, as it is called in some places.

We have mascots every year, and for this year, I'm proud to present the five mascots from the Power Lab and they are as follow: Fizzy the Test tube, Max the Battery, Electra the Electricity, Sparki the Lightbulb, and last but not least, Dewd the Bubble. I was the Crew Leader for Electra! She was one of the female mascot, together with Sparki and, in my opinion, the styliest of all! =)

The three Bible verses for this year's VBS are:

- the power to be thankful
- the power to be helpful
- the power to be brave

It was such a joy working as a Crew Leader, though sometimes it may be tiring, and there are those children that literally drive you up the wall with their complains, demands, and annoyance! But I still love them and now as I am writing this, I'm beginning to miss them. I would love to name a few of them. Nigel Raveen, Mark Teh, Li Wei Hong, and Joshua Vinod. I am going to miss this four amigos so much! Please come back next year!!

All in all, the whole VBS was a complete success! The teachers, the helpers, and the volunteers all did a fantastic job in putting this big project together and launched it into success! All your effort, all your sweat, all your hardwork, all your time, all your strength, all your commitment, all your energy, all the stress, did not go to waste! Well done, everyone! God is definitely proud of you!

I have learned so much from these four days! Those were priceless moments! Being able to spend time with the children was most satisfying.

There is no greater joy then being able to bless and see the children blessed!

1ST OF DECEMBER

It's the 1st of December!!

Ooo..I'm getting all so excited!!! December is, in my opinion, the best month of all the twelve. December means lots of activities and events. Not forgetting, my birthday!!! haha. I've waited for 11 months and finally it is just around the corner. What else are there? Yes, the yearly Vacation Bible School is tomorrow and will last till the 5th of Dec. Next, comes the G.Y Camp! Last but not least, the best event, the best season of the year - CHRISTMAS!!! Christmas is just 24 days away! Aren't you excited? Thinking about Christmas gives me a great sense of joy. =D Sometimes I wish it would snow in Malaysia! =(

On a second note, today is a very special day for my little sister. She's officially 11 years old! Deborah, if you read this: Blessed 11th Birthday to you!!! You have played your role as a sister. =) May you grow in wisdom, in stature, and in favor with God and man! God bless abundantly!

To my mom, Happy Belated Birthday!!! Thank you for being the most wonderful Mom! God bless!

We celebrated both the ladies' birthdays in Vietnam Kitchen. I won't be able to upload the pictures today because I do not have the camera with me! But I will upload as soon as I get hold of the camera! hehe!

Today is a memorable and unique day because of an unusual celestial sight! If you were to look up the night sky, you would see two bright dots and a crescent moon. It's a spectacular sight because they are aligned in such a way that they literally form a 'smiley face'. The two dots are planets. The bright one is Venus, the dimmer one is Jupiter! It's really wonderful to see something so unusual which perhaps only occur once in a lifetime! Sadly, I did not take a picture of it. Argh!

School life will definitely never be the same again! This post is dedicated to three people who has been a great blessing to my life, who has made school a better place, and made my school life so much more enjoyable! These three wonderful, funny, rocking, crazy, yet dearest people are:

JOEL BRYAN MOHAN

Joel, you have played a big role in my life. I still remember the first time I met you! You were so small, well I smaller then too, but I've seen you grown these past 5 years, to the young, handsome man you are now! I thank you for your friendship! We've been through so many ups and downs. Times of joy, of victory, of happiness, of craziness, of sadness, of misunderstanding, and of difficulties. When I look back of the past, I remember how we always got into trouble and the amount of time we spent in the office, getting reprimanded. All those moments, are priceless to me! I would never trade anything for them. You are indeed a blessing from God! I pray that God will lead you in the path He has planned and marked out for you. May you prosper in whatever field you are going into! May you have excellence and success and may you continue to be a channel of blessing!

Lastly, I've never said this to you before, but Joel - I dearly miss you! Lunch will never be the same again!

Even though you were in the centre for only a few months, but you have left footprints in my life. I remembered the first time you stepped foot into the centre. You were wearing your turquoise pinafore! At my first glance at you, I thought you were a very unfriendly and moody person. And I still remember those times when I was doing my test, and all of a suddenly I hear a burp sound. Not forgetting, when you got first for cross country! When I heard you got first, I was shocked! Immediately, I knew you weren't any ordinary girl! I was right! =) haha!

Well, I am going to be very honest with you, dude. You are the loudest, noisest, most talkative, boyish, and craziest girl I've ever known. Inspite of all that, people still love you, and honestly speaking, you are a very fun person to be with! You somehow know how to make people around you feel comfortable and entertained. You are just special, in simple!

Sapphira, I sure am going to miss you!! Like a lot cause I won't have anyone to bicker and fight with!!! I pray that you will continue to be a blessing to those around you!

Please try not to cry when you laugh, cause you might cause a flood if the joke is too funny!

Though we hardly talked to each other in school, but with all those little Godly and kind acts, you have been a blessing to me! However, I want to thank you for your encourgement, your concern, your help, but most importantly, for your friendship! It was really good to work with you in the same team! I thank God for bring you into my life! I pray and hope that you will excel in your studies and I wish you all the best in your coming SAT! God bless, my friend!

THE NIGHT OF NIGHTS

The Awards and Thanksgiving Night on the 20th marks the end of the academic year for all Grace homeschoolers! So much planning, so much hardwork, so much effort, so much sweat, so much tears, so much energy has been put in for the success of the Awards Night. And true enough it was a success! So many parents and friends came to support their individuals. The hall was almost full!

This year was much different than last year's. There were more muscial dramas, and recitation of Scriptures were introduced this year. It was good to see the little ones stand on stage and reciting the Scripture. The tense on their face makes them really cute! =p

This year, once again, Klang took the praise and worship! As a worship leader, I say that all my musicians and assistant worship leaders did a fantastic job. They did their utmost best for the Highest! I am very proud of them! =p

All in all, it was a night to remember! Before I end, I would want to thank God for His strength, for His help, for His wisdom, for His ever watchful eyes, for His grace! He has taken us through a year with so many exciting events, enriching experiences, challenging situations, and amazing victories! We thank for such a wonderful and fruitful year! He deserves all glory, honor, and praise!

Tomorrow will be the start of my long, awaited HOLIDAY!

Wuhooo!! I am so elated!! =) I have, by the way, so much to blog! So many thank yous, good byes, and praises that I want to dedicate and say to my dearest, beloved, loved, and closest classmates, or should I say, brothers and sisters in Christ?! Erm...I think both will do!

A DINNER AT THE CRYSTAL CROWN HOTEL

Last Saturday, my family and I were invited to a birthday celebration in Crystal Crown Hotel. We celebrated the birthday of Christina Gan's paternal grandmother. We had our own private room where there were three tables: two tables for the adults, and one whole table just for the children. =)

The food was absolutely scrumptious and appetizing. The 5 seasons and glass noodle were my favorites of the night. Later that night, the big cake was brought out and all of us sang the birthday song! The joy on the face of the old aunty was beyond words. =p

A DOOR OF OPPORTUNITY

I just know what lay ahead of me...

The year is drawing to a close and every year, when the school break comes, churches will have camps, outings, retreats, you name it!

I am elated because this year I am once again going for the annual GY Camp and what's more, it is being held in Peace Haven, Genting Highlands! Even the name sounds so soothing and relaxing! But.....

On one beautiful, sunny Sunday morning, my dream for a relaxing school break was shattered! I bumped into Zlwin Chew! As soon as we said our "Hi's and good mornings, he took a short pause and then continued speaking:

Zlwin: David, you are going for the camp, right?

Me: Yes! Oh , I have actually paid the camp fee to "this person" last week!

Zlwin: Oh ok, that's cool!

I was about to walk off, but he stopped me!

Zlwin: David, I've got something to tell you!

Me: Erm..yeah? What is it?

Zlwin: You have been chosen to be one of the group leaders of the camp! *smiles*

Me: (Pause for a few seconds, mouth a little wide open, eyes bigger than usual!) Oh ok! Thanks!

I was really hoping that they would not pick me because all I had in mind was to go for the camp, be a member of a team, enjoy and relax! In short - having no duties, no responsibilities and no worries at all!

Though I was a bit troubled but I still thanked God for this opportunity! I tried not to look at it as a burden but as a door of opportunity from God! I've been to 5 GY Camps and never have I been in leadership. I've never been an assistant leader either- always a member!

But now, I have been chosen as a leader all of a sudden. From a mere member to a group leader who would be leading and working with youths who are older and better than me! =p

Nevertheless, I am still grateful for this opportunity where I can be, for once, a GY Camp group leader! I can put in my cv that I had led a group of young people in a camp!!!

Lord, thank you for this golden opportunity!

A LESSON FROM THE BAMBOO TREE

You take a little seed, plant it, water it, and fertilise it for a whole year, and nothing happens

The second year you water it and fertilise it, and nothing happens

The third year you water it and fertilise it, and nothing happens. How discouraging this becomes!

The fourth year you water it and fertilize it and nothing happens. This is very frustrating.

The fifth year you continue to water and fertilise the seed and then...take note.

Sometimes during the fifth year, the Chinese bamboo tree sprouts and grows NINETY FEET IN SIX WEEKS!

Well, life is much akin to the growing process of the Chinese bamboo tree. It is often discouraging. We seemingly do things right but nothing happens.

But for those who do things right and are not discouraged and are persistent, things will happen. Finally we begin to receive the rewards. Never be discouraged by bad situations around but let the joy of the Lord be your strength and assurance!

Those who give up never gets up, but those who gets up never gives up!

IT STARTS WITH SOMETHING LITTLE

Yesterday, I picked up a book entitled "An Enemy Called Average." This book teaches and helps us to defeat the enemy called Average in our lives so that we will move on to a more dynamic, prosperous, and healthy life.

As I was flipping through the pages, I stopped at a chapter entitled - Everything Big Starts With Something Little, hence the title of this post.

Many want the "Big Things" but absolutely disdain starting with the "Little Things." It is right to dream big but wanting the big dream without taking the small steps of "little things", is not the right attitude because in the Bible, all of God's people were found faithful in the small things. We often read of the Parable of the Talents found in Matthew 25. It speaks of three servants who were granted different amount of talents. The first and second servants sow their talents and reaped double but the third servant hid his talent and was rebuked by his master.

In verse 23, the master said unto his servants, " Well done, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over the few (little) things, I will make thee ruler over many things..." Without a doubt, there is power in taking small steps.

It is tragic that many people these days are not moving with God simply because they are not willing to take the small steps He placed before them. Whenever you receive a call into any particular place, always step in and grab the opportunity no matter how small it is.

Never ever be afraid to take small steps because the Bible has promised us that if we are faithful in the small matters, one day we will definitely be rulers over larger things.

There is a saying that goes - Be faithful in the little things, for in them our strength lies. There's so much truth here!!

There was this teenage boy whom I met a few years back. He enjoyed playing the guitar and whenever he had the opportunity to play the guitar, he would - be it for a cell meeting or a chapel meeting. Though he wasn't as skillful as his other church members, he had the opportunity to play for Sunday Morning Services, Sunday School, and Youth services; he gladly continued to serve in the little tasks that were given him.As the months went by, bigger tasks were granted to him. He was given the opportunity to even worship lead and play the guitar during prayer meetings.Grow wherever you're planted!

Eric Hoffer said, Fear of becoming a "has- been" keeps some people from becoming anything. Most people don't succeed because they are so afraid to fail. Never let the fear of failure stop you!

Many times in our life, when we have some goals that seem unreachable we immediately stop making efforts. However if you would press on, you are more than halfway there. God wants to begin with you today no matter how tough and difficult your circumstances are because nothing is too big for God to handle.

"Winning starts with beginning!"

JUST SIMPLY AMAZING

Do you agree that the starfish is both mysterious and unusual? I truly agree with that because what I am about to share with you is truly extraordinary. And to my surprise, many do not know of the unique abilities the starfish possesses.

I am pretty sure many of you know that when you cut off an arm of a starfish, another new arm will grow. That is not very difficult to comprehend! However, do you know that the piece of arm that was cut off from the body, does not rot and decay, instead that piece of arm forms another starfish, making it a total of two starfish. Erm, easy to comprehend? I hope so..

Now this might be hard for you to believe, but these are proven facts..

Now, if you cut a single starfish into 7 parts, there will 7 new starfish altogether and that goes the same for a starfish that is cut up into 10 parts! What if you cut a starfish into 100 parts ??!!??.....you know what the outcome will be!

There was once a team from an organization that wanted to reduce the population of starfish in the oceans. So this team set out into parts of the oceans where starfish was in abundance. When they found the starfish's natural habitat, the team began to cut and "kill" every starfish they could find.

Little did they know that they had caused the population of the starfish to multiply at an alarming rate! It was a fatal mistake to annihilate starfish by cutting them up or chopping them!!

Anyway, I felt that this was a rather interesting information to share with you! Oh yes, if you are wondering why starfish can be cut up into so many parts and yet do not die - well, this is the mystery. Starfish have no centralized brains! Well, I hope you have a better understanding of the starfish.

THE PREDATOR

I just came back from a two-day conference - the National Social Works Conference that was hosted by Grace Assembly, in collaboration with CREST (Crisis Relief Services and Training). The HISG ( Humanitarian International Services Group) was the other organization that participated in this conference.

This conference has taught me the importance of being fully equipped and trained as a volunteer for relief work in a disaster/crisis. Without the proper training and preparation, a volunteer will not be effective in disaster relief work. Instead, it is disastrous for the volunteer worker. worsening the situation. Anyone can have a part in relief work after going through a basic relief handling course.

The last day of the conference, which is today, is much more interesting and informative with many video clips of relief works in recent Asian earthquakes, floods, and tsunami.

However, there is something that I would really want to share and show you! Today, one of the CREST members presented a very evocative image of a Sudanese child taken in the year 1993

This picture you see was taken by a photojournalist named Kevin Carter. He was a photojournalist to South Africa. He would travel often to South Africa to capture photos of the environment, the culture, the people, and the lifestyle of this South African natives and write about them.

So, when he was in Sudan one quiet, hot evening in March, he came across a dying, emaciated Sudanese toddler (as seen in the image). He said the girl was struggling to get to a feeding centre that was nearby. And behind her stood a hungry vulture, watching and waiting for its prey. Kevin, who was there at that moment, saw a great opportunity to gain fame and glory with this "unusual" scene. He waited 20 minutes for the vulture to spread its wings, hoping that this would make the image more dramatic. Unfortunately, it didn't. Nevertheless, he took a couple of shots.

His dream finally came true in 1994 when he received the Pulitzer Award for this image:

Now looking back at the picture, we see how totally helpless and lonely the suffering, little child was. One wonders where the rest of humanity is.... When this image was published, hundreds of calls were made to the New York Times concerning the fate of the little child.

Several months later, Kevin Carter took his own life. Many said he was overcome by guilt - when he walked away from the dying child. In his suicide note, he wrote, "I am haunted by the vivid memories of... starving and wounded children..."

Jesus said,

"...share your food with the hungry and...provide the poor wanderer with shelter -

when you see the naked......clothe him,

and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood..." Isaiah 58:7

HE MAKES ALL THINGS BEAUTIFUL

Recently, I've been snapping a lot of pictures, of which many are macro shots of insects and flowers. I've come to appreciate and marvel at God's amazing creativity. I remember that at the end of Creation, God looked at all He had made and pronounced that, "It is good."

One evening, I was walking with my camera around the neighborhood in search of something to capture. As I ventured into the backyard, I found a grassy area with little, white flowers scattered here and there, and of course, there were lots of greens. The sun shone with a brilliant gold. When the sunlight touched the little flowers and grass,the greens glistened, making the place beautiful.

In hope of finding some beauties, I squatted down and waited for them to fly by. To my amazement, I spotted ( after some research in the internet) a hoverfly hovering above the little flowers. I switched on my camera, set the mode to digital macro and waited for the perfect moment to snap. It did not take long for the hungry hoverfly to alight on the flower and began sucking the sweet nectarine off the flower.

Then a damselfly and a butterfly came along. I was delighted. I spent nearly an hour working at getting the best macro shots. Unfortunately, the wind was a little too strong, causing the flower to keep swaying and I did not carry along my tripod. What a big mistake!!!

Nevertheless, in spite of these slight disadvantages, I've managed to capture the details pretty well. The pictures are not as sharp or clear as I have wanted them to be, but I'm greatly satisfied! =)

Ever since I picked up a camera, I've learned to appreciate the beauty and wonder of God's magnificent Creation. On that day, I learned two important attributes God. The first is, our God is a God of order and completion. What He starts, He completes. The second attribute of God can be clearly seen and read in the book of Genesis. At the end of the six days of Creation, God pronounced all that He had made - good! His work is always GOOD!! As I was trying to snap the hoverfly, the closer I zoomed in to the hoverfly, the clearer the beauty of the Master's workmanship is!! I saw that God created these little creatures with utmost details. Even for such a little insect like the hoverfly, of which not many people would take notice, God created it so magnificently. He did not leave an eye out, or a leg shorter.

God could have thought, "Well since this hoverfly is so small and I'm pretty sure not many people would even take a second look at it, or care about it, it's okay if the mouth is a little crooked, an eye is bigger than the other, or a leg is shorter than the rest."

I am very sure that such a thought would never cross God's mind, because the Word of God states, "He makes all things beautiful..." Such an enlightening verse isn't it! It is really awesome to knoe that when God creates, His handiwork becomes a priceless masterpiece.

An ending note to you - take time to step out into God's wonderful world and feeds on its splendor. You will see beauty lingering all around, and that's a promise!

ITS THE END OF HIGH SCHOOL

HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 3 - SENIOR YEAR

I was in a "big" dilemma today! As most of you know, if you have been following the movies lately, the most successful American Disney television film - High School Musical 3 is already in the cinemas.

My classmates planned to go out to the cinemas to watch HSM3 because they were really super "loyal" fans of HSM3, and enjoys musical dramas (films). As for me, I'm not quite that type of person who fancies musical dramas, and what more, HSM3! Anyhow, I thought to myself, maybe I could go tag along but instead of watching HSM3, I could go buy a ticket for another movie like Max Payne. It was a rather difficult choice, because I'm quite particular with how I spend my money on movies.

However, after considering and thinking over, I chose to watch HSM3 because the time for Max Payne and HSM3 was different and since I was following a parent, I did not want to cause the aunty to wait for me while I'm still in the theater. So, to prevent all the waiting and hasel, that was why HSM3 was my choice!

During the first 30 minutes, it was the french fries, coke, and popcorns that kept me awake. There wasn't much in the first half of the movie, just parts of singing, acting, and dancing here and there - quite similar to that of "Bollywood". It was quite saddening to think that I just allowed my RM 8 to go to waste.

However, everything change when Zac Efron (Troy) and Corbin Bleu (Chad) blew the screen with a duet dance and song. The dancing was very entertaining and the sort of dance that I love - a mixture of breakdance and hip hop. Very well organized.

From that point onward, I kept both my eyes wide open. It was getting better!

All in all, I have to say that, the songs were very well written, the choregraphers did a fantastic job in guiding and teaching the actors and actresses, organization and coordination was one thing I admired especially the closing end of the show. It even had some really good humor scenes. All in all, it was a good musical film. I give credit to the director- K. Ortega for putting in so much effort, time, strength, and sweat into this project!

The Seniors of HSM put up a brilliant show and really gave a big "BANG!"

FAITHFULNESS, LOYALTY, AND UNCONDITIONAL LOVE

When I was young, my dad would always tell me a story before going to bed. He would read up a very good story in the office, and at night he would share it with me. Sometimes when he had no stories to tell, we would make up one. His stories were usually very exciting and nice to listen too. However there was one particular story that he shared, it was so touching and heart-warming that till today I still remember it so vividly.

As I was searching my drawer today, looking for something to blog about, I found the story that my dad printed a few years back. It was pretty dusty! When I saw the story, I knew in my heart that this was the perfect post that I am going to post. Besides that, I thought that it would be appropriate to share this beautiful story with you! Moreover as far as I could remember, I have never posted this post before.

Enjoy the story and grab a tissue...just in case!

This true story dates back in the year 1923. It sets in Tokyo, Japan. Chu- ken Hachiko

( Chu-ken means the faithful dog Hachiko) was born in Akita in 1923 and was brought to Tokyo in 1924. He and his owner, Mr. Eisaburo Uyeno were inseparable friends right from the start. Each day, Hachiko would accompany his master, Eisaburo, a professor at the Imperial University, to the train station where he left for work. Upon returning home, the professor would find the dog patiently waiting, tail wagging. This happy routine continued until on fateful day in 1925, when the professor was taken ill on the job and unfortunately died before he could return home.

Despite the fact that Hachiko was less than two years old at the time, the bond between the dog and the master was strong. Hachiko continued to wait each day at the Shibuya Station for a friend who was never coming back. At times, he wouldn't return home for days at a stretch.

He kept waiting for over ten years! On March 8, 1935, Hachiko finally went to meet his master. He died on the very same spot he last saw his friend alive.

We see that loyalty, faithfulness, and unconditional love are qualities that have earned dog a title of "man's best friend." Hachiko may be gone but he will never be forgotten. The story behind the erected statue at the Shibuya Station is one that has endured and continually warms the hearts of locals and tourists alike and has kept that place for over sixty years!

Yeeeeppppiiiiiii!!! I'm back

It's almost been a month since my last post which was posted on the 4th of April, and today is already the 3rd of May. May?!?! Oh my goodness, another month has arrived..and that leaves us with 7 more months, and we'll enter into a brand new year. =) Doesn't time flies??

Well, first of all, its great to be back! I wasn't able to update my blog due to the fact that I was pretty busy the last month with all the activities and studies that need to be accomplished. Nevertheless, I will continue blogging because I love to and it makes my heart very glad when someone is blessed through blogs. Therefore, I will keep using my blog (as my mum always told me) a mission field to others. =)

A little touch- up had been made in my blog. As you can see the blog title, description, and image had been changed. There is a reason behind it; however, I will share it with you some other time. =) Its been a long time since I changed the interior my blog, therefore I decided that I will do it this time. I just absolutely love the colors white and blue. haha!

Isn't the blog title just "conspicuous"?? haha...well honestly I had this title because I could not think of a suitable title that would suit the picture and description. However, after a long thought, I decided and thought this was a rather interesting title: I LOVE YOU (Wor Ai Nee) hehehe...=) Looking at the title, I find that it isn't an awkward title after all! =)

DOING OUR BEST

Doing our bestest best is very important. The Bible even speaks about our attitude towards our work and how we should respond to it.

"Whatever you do, do it as unto the Lord." We should not and never do a half- done job. Nobody counts on or favors a person who does an uncompleted or messy job. Would you choose a person whom you know for sure that he/she will carry out a fantastic job or a person who will at the end of the day give you headache and heartache after seeing his/her work?? =)

If you would choose the person who does his best in every he puts his hands to, then you too should be the same. You should be a person who do your best to others around you - Do unto others what you would have them do unto you! =)

Lastly, doing your best might wrought a miracle in the lives of others. Through the way you respond to a duty or an assignment, it reflects the kind of person - (whether you are a diligent or negligent) and through you, God can change a person who is a lazy-"chin chai" person to a delegated and responsible leader.

I am sorry for not updating my blog regularly. My apologies! Anyway, how have you guys been these few days (weeks)?? I hope that you are doing fine and well. Oh yes, we have now entered into another month - April! That is so fast! The year seems to move like an express train, shooting by, waiting for no one!

I was surfing the web, and I came across this wonderful and meaningful story written in the form of a poem! It is simply beautiful! When I read it, I felt I had to share it with you. I can't have you missing out something that is so well written! Just reading through the short poem. It reminds me that God does not look at the great, the rich, the mighty, the strong, the brilliant, or the bravest. He looks and chooses the smallest, the weakest, the ugliest, and the poorest! Anyway, I do not want to burst the bubble.

Hope you will enjoy it and always remember that you are the chosen vessel, called and chosen by Christ!

The Master was searching for a vessel to use. On the shelf there were many which one would He choose?

CREATOR and Creation

Ever since I started photography as my hobby, I have always been on a look out for things to take. When I look at the sky, I marvel at how the clouds form all kinds of shapes and everyday the sky is different. In the evening, the sky is the most gorgeous! I have the privilege of seeing the sun set every single day. And let me tell you, it's beautiful! There are days where the sun hung in the sky like a huge golden-fiery ball. It is even better when there is sun after the rain, there will be light rays streaming forth from behind the clouds.

When I look at all these things, I am assured that all these did not come about with a "Bang" but there is a Creator that through His Word, the world was formed and all there is within it.

Yesterday, I witnessed together with my family something very spectacular. I have never seen such a sight before. I was looking out of the window, around 7 when the sun was already behind the trees, when all of a sudden, thick and faded rays began to appear in the sky. At first they were very blur - hardly could be seen. Immediately I grabbed my camera. Unfortunately the camera could not capture the unusual sight because they were not clear. So I waited. Hoping that they would get brighter and clearer. And sure enough they did!! =)

The rays became more and more visible and clear! So visible that my camera was able to capture the red rays! In addition to that, the sky had different shades of colors.

I was glad to be able to see the beautiful scene. I bet most people did not notice!

I just love quotes!! They are short and simple, yet they are so meaningful! I love notebooks, or anything that contains quotes on each page. I would read every quote and remember it so that I can use it next time. However as much as I have read so many different types of quotes, only a few are worth remembering, like this one:

Fear is a poor chisel for carving out tomorrow! When we view our future from a position of fear or worry, we are viewing it in an inaccurate and incorrect view. instead, we should view our future from a point of faith.

An old Swedish proverb says, "Worry gives a small thing a big shadow." A simple definition of worry is: the misuse of the creative imagination that God has placed within each of us. Whenever fear arises in our minds, we should oppose fear with faith. Never succumb to the feeling of fear or weariness that the enemy plants in your mind.

Where does the word "worry" derive from?? Check this out. The word worry derives from an Anglo-Saxon term meaning "to strangle" or "to choke off". There is no question that worry and fear do choke off the creative flow from God. The less you worry, the more ideas, insight, and revelation you will have.

Worry is a route that leads from somewhere to nowhere. Never ever let it direct your life.

In Psalms 55:22 the Bible states, " Cast your burdens upon the Lord, and He shall sustain you." I absolutely love this quote when I read, " Never respond out of fear, and never fear to respond."

Lastly, don't worry and don't fear. Instead take your worry to the Lord, "casting all your care upon him; for he cares for you." ( 1 Peter 5:7)

A woman came out of her house and saw 3 old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard. She did not recognize them. She said "I don't think I know you, but you must be hungry.

Please come in and have something to eat."

"Is the man of the house home?", they asked.

"No", she said. "He's out."

"Then we cannot come in", they replied.

In the evening when her husband came home, she told him what had happened. "Go tell them I am home and invite them in!" The woman went out and invited the men in.

"We do not go into a House together," they replied. "Why is that?" she wanted to know.

One of the old men explained: "His name is Wealth," he said pointing to one of his friends, and said pointing to another one, "He is Success, and I am Love." Then he added, "Now go in and discuss with your husband which one of us you want in your home."

The woman went in and told her husband what was said. Her husband was overjoyed. "How nice!!", he said. "Since that is the case, let us invite Wealth. Let him come and fill our home with wealth!"

His wife disagreed. "My dear, why don't we invite Success?" Their daughter-in-law was listening from the other corner of the house. She jumped in with her own suggestion: "Would it not be better to invite Love? Our home will then be filled with love!"

"Let us heed our daughter-in-law's advice," said the husband to his wife. "Go out and invite Love to be our guest." The woman went out and asked the 3 old men, "Which one of you is Love? Please come in and be our guest."

Love got up and started walking toward the house. The other 2 also got up and followed him. Surprised, the lady asked Wealth and Success: "I only invited Love, Why are you coming in?"

The old men replied together: "If you had invited Wealth or Success, the other two of us would've stayed out, but since you invited Love, wherever He goes, we go with him. Wherever there is Love, there is also Wealth and Success!!!!!!"

When I was done reading this story, it brought me back to the story of King Solomon, the wisest man ever lived. When he was crowned as king, the Lord appeared to him in the night saying, "Ask for whatever you want me to give you."....Solomon answered the Lord saying, ".......Now O Lord my God, you have made me your servant king in place of my father David. But I am only a little child and do not know how to carry out my duties.....So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong...

" The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this. So God said to him, "Since you have asked for this and not long life or wealth for yourself....I will do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and discerning heart..Moreover I will give you what you have not asked for - both riches and honor..."

The Bible speaks much of and emphasizes greatly on the subject - LOVE. Love is indeed the most powerful force in the world. Of the three - faith, hope, and love - Paul writes that Love is the greatest. Which of the three would you choose? Mr. Love? Mr. Wealth or Mr. Success.

would definitely choose LOVE! Even if I do not have all the money or be successful, I would greatly desire to have a peaceful- loving family. And I thank God that I already have it!! =)

There will always be success and wealth where love is, simply because when you love others, God will certainly bless you. The two most important commnandments in the Bible is - Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your strength. And the second commandment is - Love thy neighour as yourself. God does not emphasize on giving money or material things to your neighour (enemy) but only one thing - LOVE.

God is love, but love is not God -

CHOCOLATE EVERYWHERE!!!

Chocolate has been a favorite by many around the world, well to scale it down, I study in a school where most of the students are "chocolate-lovers!!" They can love all chocolates, they eat every chocolate, and they pray for more chocolates. =)

You might be thinking. why a subject on chocolate...well it all started when I visited one of Malaysia's best selling chocolate factory - the Beryl's Chocolate Factory, located in Sri Kembangan on the 6th of March. It was a school field trip, and therefore compulsory.

I did enjoy myself, thought the tour was short. I had a view on how chocolate was made right from the cocoa seed, to the cleaning and to the packaging into lovely, bright wrappers and boxes. In addition to that, I also learned the history of chocolate, the age when chocolate begin, and how chocolate was used during the ancient times. To sum it all up, it was - INTERESTING. That's the word for it.

IS YOUR LIVING IN VAIN?

It was a cold winter's day that Sunday. The parking lot to the church was filling up quickly. I noticed as I got out of my car that fellow church members were whispering among themselves as they walked to the church. As I got closer I saw a man leaned up against the wall outside the church. He was almost laying down as if he was asleep. He had on a long trench coat that was almost in shreds and a hat topped his head, pulled down so you could not see his face. He wore shoes that looked 30 years old, too small for his feet with holes all over them, his toes stuck out. I assumed this man was homeless and asleep, so I walked on by through the doors of the church. We all fellowshipped for a few minutes, and someone brought up the man laying outside. People snickered and gossiped but no one bothered to ask him to come in, including me. A few moments later church began. We all waited for the Preacher to take his place and to give us the Word, when the doors to the church opened. In came the homeless man walking down the aisle with his head down. People gasped and whispered and made faces. He made his way down the aisle and up onto the pulpit he took off his hat and coat. My heart sank. There stood our preacher ... he was the "homeless man."

No one said a word.

The preacher took his Bible and laid it on the stand. "Folks I don't think I have to tell you what I am preaching about today." Then he started singing the words to this song. "If I can help somebody as I pass along. If I can cheer somebody with a word or song. If I can show somebody that he's traveling wrong. Then my living shall not be in vain."

Hi all!!! Wow, its been such a long time! It's good to be back, blogging again. I know my blog is extremely dusty and is "covered" with spiderwebs and all. I have gone on a "sabbatical" for too long. ehehe..XD

Well, so many things happened during the past few months. Oh yes, guess what?? We are already in the second month of the year, emerging into another new month, March!! Chinese New Year has already passed, and so is Valentine's Day!!! =)

I have lots and lots of things installed that I eagerly want to share with you, and not forgetting, Snap Shots that I have accumulated over the past two months. More stories coming up, more inspirational quotes, more about "my life", more Scriptural verses, and more FUN!!!

My whole blog is seriously so dead. The number of visitors has declined, my c-box is stagnant, oh ya, (thank you to those who wished me CNY in my chatbox, really appreciated it!). So, LET'S START THE FUN AGAIN!!!

DAY OF RAYS

Today is a public holiday so there is no class. Since it is a p. holiday, I could sleep a little later; however, I was awakened by my dad.

It has been raining these past few days because it is the rainy season. It rains almost everyday- whether in the morning, or in the afternoon, or in the evening, or at night.

Today my dad saw something, something very spectacular. It does not always happen around my "taman". My dad saw rays of light streaming forth from behind the trees. It was so clear and beautiful. In addition to that, since it was after a heavy rain, the leaves and trees were covered with droplets of water. When the sun's rays hit the droplets of water, they sparkled, like precious diamonds everywhere. =) It was magnificent.

My dad walked up to my room and woke me up. Eyes still half closed, I went looking for my camera, loaded the charged batteries and ran downstairs. I took quite a number of shots.

Besides that, I found a green-funny-looking grasshopper, some spider-webs but no clue where the spiders were, and a cluster of golden-black ants.

Just a few hours ago, in the evening, as the sun was setting, behind the clouds, a broad ray of golden light streamed across the sky. As the sun begun to set, fainter rays shot forth from behind the thick clouds. =D I am grateful that I could see the sunset every single day. I wish I could see the sunrise. That would definitely be beautiful. But I am still grateful and glad. I told my dad, I woke up in the morning and there were rays of sunshine and when I rest there were rays of sunshine too! haha...God is awesome!

I therefore name this day - 10/1/2008 : A DAY OF RAYS!!

A true story:

After a few of the usual sunday evening hymns, the church's pastor slowly stood up, walked over to the pulpit and, before he gave his sermon for the evening, briefly introduced a guest minister who was in the service that evening. In the introduction, the pastor told the congregation that the guest minister was one of his dearest childhood friends and that he wanted him to have a few moments to greet the church and share whatever he felt would be appropriate for the service.

With that, an elderly man stepped up to the pulpit and began to speak.

"A father, his son, and a friend of his son were sailing off the Pacific coast," he began, "when a fast approaching storm blocked any attempt to get back to the shore. The waves were so high, that even though the father was an experienced sailor, he could not keep the boat upright and the three were swept into the ocean as the boat capsized."

The old man hesitated for a moment, making eye contact with the two teenagers who were, for the first time since the service began, looking somewhat interested in his story. The aged minister continued with his story, "Grabbing a rescue line, the father had to make the most excruciating decision of his life: to which boy would he throw the other end of the life line. He only had seconds to make the decision. The father knew that his son was a Christian and he also knew that his son's friend was not. The agony of his decision could not be matched by the torrent of the waves. As the father yelled out, 'I love you son!', he threw out the life line to his son's friend."

"By the time the father had pulled the friend back to the capsized boat, his son had disappeared beneath the raging swells into the black of the night. His body was never recovered."

By this time, the two teenagers were sitting up straight in the pew, anxiously waiting for the next words to come out of the old minister's mouth. "The father," he continued, "knew his son would step into eternity with Jesus and he could not bear the thought of his son's friend stepping into an eternity without Jesus. Therefore, he sacrificed his son to save the son's friend. How great is the love of God that he should do the same for us. Our heavenly Father sacrificed his only begotten son that we could be saved. I urge you to accept his offer to rescue you and take a hold of the life line he is throwing out to you in this service." With that, the old man turned and sat back down in his chair as silence filled the room.

The pastor again walked slowly to the pulpit and delivered a brief sermon with an invitation at the end. However, no one responded to the appeal. Within minutes after the service ended, the two teenagers were at the old man's side.

"That was a nice story," politely stated one of the boys, "but I don't think it was very realistic for a father to give up his only son's life in hopes that the other boy would become a Christian."

"Well, you've got a point there," the old man replied, glancing down at his worn bible. A big smile broadened his narrow face, he once again looked up at the boys and said, "It sure isn't very realistic, is it? But I'm standing here today to tell you that story gives me a glimpse of what it must have been like for God to give up his son for me. You see - I was that father and your pastor is my son's friend."

John 15: 13 - Greater love hath no one than this, than to lay down ones life for another!

Such a touching, heart-felt story. The father gave his own son up, and saved the life of his son's friend. Now, was the father a "jerk" or a heartless man?? That he should risk his son's life?? If you think that the father was a heartless man, YOU ARE WRONG!!

As for me, I think that that was the bravest decision or action that one could have made. In that few seconds, a quick decision was needed, where the old man would lose either his son or his son's friend.

He knew that one was a Christian, while the other wasn't! He finally threw the life line to the unsaved boy. Now we know that the son is in paradise with God. It would be dreadful if the son was saved and the friend was forever lost, eternally separated from God.

Now let's do a comparison:

God is the old man, the son is Jesus, and the son's friend is the world( mankind).

John3 :16 - For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only begotten Son that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life

See that picture?? You know what it means right??

The once in four years international multi-sports event - the OLYMPIC GAMES is BACK again. And this time it is held in CHINA - Beijing.

How quickly time goes by. I still remember watching the previous Olympics and it was held in Greece, Athens (the birthplace of the Olympic Games). Soon after the Olympics was over, they announced that the next holder for the Olympics 2008 is China.

Ever since then, China has been working hard to hold this important event. New stadiums are constructed, huge banners are hung everywhere...lots of work have to be done. When you read the newspapers, a full page report is written about China holding the event.

Finally after 4 years of building up and tearing down, China is now ready to hold the Olympic Games 2008! Yay!!

Oh yes, one more thing, you know everytime when I see the Chinese Olympics logo -the image of a human and all around it - covered with red - I LAUGH! You might think that I have gone "cuckoo". "Look at the logo also can laugh..what is so funny about it and what is the matter with this guy..??" Crazy fella! =)

SCHOOL'S STARTING TOMORROW

School's starting TOMORROW!!

Can you believe it??

The holidays just went by so quickly.

- Time indeed waits for no man -

And can you believe it, today is already the second day of 2008!

Chinese New Year is just around the corner. If you were to turn on the T.V, Chinese New Year songs and commercials are already being played. My granddad was watching T.V this afternoon and I happened to come down from my room and the song that came through the TV was: Gong Xi Gong Xi Ni..Yeah!! Gong Xi Gong Xi Ni!

Haha..=D

Though the thought of going to school is saddening; however, in all honesty, I would rather spend my time in school than lazing in the house, stucked to this, one- eyed box, that is continually sending out radiation. =)

God has been gracious to give me such a wonderful holiday and of course not forgetting, a great year - 2007. A year filled with so many daily challenges, ups and downs, happy days, sad times, lonely hours, difficulties that crept in, discouragement that struck, yet through all these, I have learned to depend on God's strength. Lord thank you for your abundant grace!

I have also obtained and learned many things in the year 2007. All those are precious and memorable lessons that even money cannot purchase. I had many first times last year - 2007.

Now it is 2008. As stated before: a year of many new beginnings. I know that there will be many difficult times again, but I thank God that I have a heavenly Father who will journey with me through the year.

An author once wrote: If God brings you to it, He will definitely bring you through it. Life is not and never a bed of roses. Life without its challenges will be a monotonous life.

I am prepared and ready to face every challenge that comes my way, be it easy or tough.

I hope you are ready too! If you are, let's all together, with the help of God, finish the race VICTORIOUSLY! =)

Lastly, my prayer for all of us is, as Pastor Henry has prayed: That the image of Christ will be formed in us!

It's really cool how clouds form different shapes. The wind blows them left and right, and all of a sudden the shape of a face, or a fish is observed. The clouds in the picture above formed the number three . So uniquely created by God.

I suppose the number three that is in the sky signifies the Trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

A YEAR OF NEW BEGINNINGS!!

In a few more hours, the new year will make its entrance ! So fast! Wow! Soon the blasting of firecrackers will fill the night skies, mamak stalls will be overflowing, and before you realize it, you have already entered into a year of new beginnings. I have mixed feelings. On the one hand I am all so excited, however on the other hand, I am sad.

I am excited because I want to accomplish all that which I did not complete this year, and next year, I am making a point to strike out every goal I have set!

On the other hand I am sad because (well this not a logical reason except that it is the general opinion of most teenagers : NO MORE LONG HOLIDAYS!! hahahaha...XD

- THERE IS A SEASON FOR EVERY ACTIVITY UNDER HEAVEN.. -

MALACCA - THE HISTORICAL STATE

I just came back from Malacca, in Malay - Melaka, two days ago. It was a two days, one night trip. It wasn't a family holiday, it was a trip to my sister's friend's hometown which is - Malacca.

I did not know that my sister and her friends have planned the trip. I only came to know about it when my sister told me she was going off to Malacca on the 21st. But how did I end up in Malacca?? haha..=)

My mum asked me whether I wanted to go since I was free and the last time I visited Malacca was when I was in my mum's womb. haha..=) So I agreed because I know that Malacca is a 'very' Historical State and there must be numerous beautiful 'ruins' and buildings that I can capture in pictures!!

The not-so-nice-journey to Malacca

We took a KTM train down to KL, from there my sister met her friend, and we took the LRT to Pudu raya to take the bus down to Malacca. I absolutely did not like the walk from the LRT station to Puduraya, worst still when the day was a sunny one. I - to be more specific - all of us, my sister's friend, my sister, and I were all sweating because of the heat and at Puduraya everybody seemed to be puffing smoke everywhere.

Thank God it was a 1 and a half hours drive to Malacca. I would have definitely vaporized if the trip was the same as Cameron Highlands!

Man or woMAN, let me tell you this, Malacca is just the place where you can actually stuff yourself with food, yummy yummy food. For me it was simply fabulous cause I love EATING!!! haha..=D

What could be better than EATING and SHOPPING?? for me it is EATING, SHOPPING, and taking pictures all the way in Malacca.hehehe..

Our schedule was SUPER PACK! We had so many places to visit and so much famous, delicious, must-not-miss Malaccan food to eat! The whole day we were just out eating and sight-seeing the historical buildings.

These were the places we visited (in the following order):

- the all -time famous Hainanese Chicken Rice Ball - this style of chicken rice is fantastic. If you have not tried, please do go and taste it!

- A' Famosa - I am pretty sure all of you know this historical site. Many of you have learned about it in your history books about the Portuguese settlements. I do not need to explain further.

- the Church of Saint Paul - This is another prominent historical site in Malacca. The place was terribly rundown. In it laid the gravestones that lined the walls of the church. Besides that, in the heart of this church laid the body of St. Francis Xavier. Outside the church stood a statue of St. Paul.

- Istana Kesultanan Melaka - In this palace were replicas of all the famous sultans and legendary warriors of Malacca, the clothes worn by the kings and queens in those days, the weapons used, and prominent stories that occurred during the Sultanate.

- the Forbidden Garden - This is a beautiful place. The grass is fresh green and so clean, so much so, my sister's friend laid down on the grass to rest.Just like in Hollywood and Bollywood!! haha..=) It was green, green green everywhere.. All kinds of flowers and trees grow in the Forbidden Garden.

- Cendol Shop - durian cendol! You must go for this when you are in Malacca. (Yes, Joel, my brother, I know you don't agreeeeee. Hehehe=)

- Stadhuys Square - one of the unusual characteristics of the buildings is: the buildings here are all red...actually more of maroon in color. Here is situated the Church of Christ Melaka and the Clock Tower. The buildings in this place actually reflected the Dutch architecture.

- the Chuch of Christ Melaka - the interior of this church is beautiful. The chairs are woven rattan, on the floor are placed long stretches of cushion which are meant to be knelt on while praying. are No pictures of the inside of the church can be taken because cameras are strictly not allowed in. =(

- Jonker Walk/ Street - this is the place where we spent most of our time walking and looking at the antique goods. There are so many stuffs sold along the streets. There are all kinds of stuffs: key chains, earrings, FOOD!!, clothings, shoes.. you just name it. It is like a pasar malam..packed!! Though it was awfully tiring this place is really great for a shutterbug like me!

- Mahkota Parade Shopping Mall - bought our movie tickets in this shopping mall.After we bought our tickets, we immediately rushed home to wash up and get changed. For us, time was precious. We could not afford to waste time. As soon as we had done we went for dinner!!! Eat again!!! hahaha..=)

- I am so sorry, I forgot the name of the shop..forgive me..=) - I just love the "O jian" the dish with the oyster, egg, and flour. It was cheap and the portion was big. Now when I am writing this, my mouth is watering. The "O jian" was real good!

- Movie Time: National Treasure - two thumbs up for the movie. It is really exciting. The show is funny, thrilling, and romantic. Nicolas Cage is one hilarious homo sapien. I like the way the secret codes and clues are hidden especially on Queen Victoria's table. Have you watched the movie? Hope you did!

- Our last destination of the day: Restoran Capitol Satay - Ohhh..the satay celup was FANTASTIC!!! Joel and his family told me that when I go to Malacca, I must go to this Restoran that sells Satay Celup. Best Satay I have eaten so far, and very different from Klang's satay!! Very different. Instead of beef, ayam, and kambing, this satay celup in Malacca consists of prawns, abalone, squid, fishball and other seafood! Ahh..I absolutely feel like eating again. Now I know why they said that Satay Celup is a must-try 'cuisine'. Because it is a MUST!! haha

We were so exhausted when we reached home at 2:00 AM!

I shall stop here! That's all. This was our first-fun-filled-packed-day! We left Malacca at 9 something the next morning. I am glad to be back but I sure want to go to Malacca again!

It seems a group of geography students were studying the "Seven Wonders of the World." At the end of their course, they were asked to list what they each considered to be the "Seven Wonders of the Modern World." So all the students wrote the Seven Wonders of the Modern World.

As the teacher was going over the results, he noticed that one girl had not turned in her paper. He asked if she was having trouble with her list. she responded, "Yes. Hello!! Christmas is just in a twinkle of an eye!! Wuhoo!! I am so excited simply because Christmas is my most favorite of all the other yearly events. =D

I am not sure whether you have already read or seen this story before. My younger sister once posted this beautiful story in her blog. If you have read it; that's great, but for those who have not read it before, hope you are able to set aside some time to read this story and see how God uses different people to bless another, inspite of great disabilities. I hope that through this wonderful story, you are able to bless others with all measure! =)

It now begins...

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation. And every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window.

The man in the other bed began to live for those one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside. The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color of the rainbow. Grand old trees graced the landscape, and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance. As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene. One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man couldn't hear the band he could see it in his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words.

Days and weeks passed. One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone. Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the world outside. Finally, he would have the joy of seeing it for himself. He strained slowly turned to look out the window beside the bed. It faced a blank wall.

The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window. The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall. She said, "Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you."

Epilogue ... There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations. Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled. If you want to feel rich, just count all of the things you have that money can't buy. And share it. "Today is a gift, that's why it is called the present."

Feel Like Giving Up?? Read this and think about it...

One day I decided to quit...

I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality...

I wanted to quit my life. I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.

'God', I asked, 'Can you give me one good reason not to quit?'

His answer surprised me...'Look around', He said. 'Do you see the fern and the bamboo?

''Yes', I replied.'When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very goodcare of them.I gave them light.I gave them water.

The fern quickly grew from the earth. Its brilliant green covered the floor.Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed.

But I did not quit on the bamboo.

In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful. And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed.

But I did not quit on the bamboo.

He said.'In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed.

But I would not quit.

In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed.

I would not quit.' He said

Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant.

But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall. It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive.

I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle.

He asked me. 'Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots'.

'I would not quit on the bamboo. I will never quit on you.'

'Don't compare yourself to others.' He said.

'The bamboo had a different purpose than the fern. Yet they both make the forest beautiful.' 'Your time will come', God said to me.

You will rise high!!

How high should I rise?' I asked.

'How high will the bamboo rise?' He asked in return.

As high as it can?' I questioned.

Yes.' He said, 'Give me glory by rising as high as you can.'

With that, I left the woods and carried this wonderful message I had with the Lord to everyone!

Now the question is - Would you GIVE UP or STAND UP and MOVE ON??

The choice is yours!

- G.Y. Camp 2007 has finally came to an end -

How fast is that??!! Remember I made my departure post and now I am done writing my welcome back post! haha..=) Four days just flew by like 4 hours.

My, camp was fantastic!!! I had a really great time during those three days, not counting the first day because I was so sick. I was actually down with fever, cough, and flu. Before I went for camp, on the 7th, I was really sick. I was thinking whether it was a good idea for me to go, because the weather there is so cold, and if I feel terribly sick, I would be in big trouble and spoil the whole camp.

Nevertheless, determined to go, I took really good care of myself, try every possible way to bring the fever down. I tried my best but the fever still lingered till the camp day. In the bus I was so sick that when the person next to be asked me or told me anything, I gave him only two answer " Oh" and "Hehehe". That was all! I either said "oh" or just give a smile.

Sitting in the bus and doing nothing was "A TORTURE" =)

- I had a great time working with my "Christmas Skyland" members!!

- I THANK GOD for HOT water. I think that was the best thing in the camp for me. I would have died of frostbite if there was no hot water. =)

- What I absolutely enjoyed in this D.I.E Camp was: Pastor Henry's message. He's such a great, funny, knowledgeable, and prayerful pastor. I enjoy every message that he preaches, especially his "JOKES"!!! God bless you, Pastor!

- Food was great, place was very homely, scenery was beautiful, weather was cozy, waking up was "so difficult" hahaha..XD

Lastly, thank you to all who gave me the birthday wish, birthday "beatings" and foremost celebrating it. =) God bless as you have been a great blessing to me!

GY CAMP 2007

Grace Youth Camp 2007 is just 9 hours away!! Ah..I am so excited!! Time really flies!...I still remember the time when I was packing for last year's camp and NOW I had just done packing for this year's GY Camp ! -D.I.E (Do It Everyday).

At last, my group's tags and banner have been completed! Thank God! I will only be able to see them tomorrow! =) I hope that the other groups are able to prepare theirs...

Woah..holidays are getting whackier and busier!! =) I love my GY Camp group.."Christmas Skyland"...I just absolutely love my group name!! =) haha..

It is only 2 days from the long-awaited 2007 GY Camp, and we are only half way in our preparation of the tags and banners!! However, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us!!

For the past two days my camp group as well as others have been spending lots and lots of time, money, and effort on the tags and banners. In the Fellowship Hall, you can actually feel the tension in the air..haha..Some campers were on the verge of giving up, others were so so so absorbed in what they were doing, while others were sent to buy the items needed to do the tags.

However, strangely, we have "some" who were so super FREE !!! They were walking around, looking at those who were trying hard to finish the task, distracting others, commenting..haha..and lastly..LYING DOWN... in the presence of music.

Only two more days to complete the tags and banners. All the best to all who are working hard to finish their camp group projects. Do your best and leave the rest to God =)

I was looking for some beautiful stories for you dear viewers to read, and I found this title, "DIFFERENT FOOTSTEPS" - a collection of Christian poems and stories about "footprints" .

It speaks about our journey with the Lord Jesus Christ. And there are always 2 pairs of footprints: Jesus's and ours. I once posted up the poem, "Footprints in the Sand" and today, I am once again going to post on footprints, but this is in a story form. Honestly, I prefer this version of footprints.

When I read this story I was so touched by what the author wrote. I can't tell you why, because I want you to experience it for yourself! XD

I hope you will enjoy it..and be touched by the story..=)

Imagine you and the Lord Jesus are walking down the road together. For much of the way, the Lord's footprints go along steadily, consistently, rarely varying the pace. But your footprints are a disorganized stream of zigzags, starts, stops, turnarounds, circles, departures, and returns.

For much of the way, it seems to go like this, but gradually your footprints become more in line with the Lord's, soon paralleling His consistently. You and Jesus are walking as true friends!

This seems perfect, but then an interesting thing happens: Your footprints that once etched the sand next to Jesus's are now walking precisely in His steps. Inside His larger footprints are your smaller ones, you and Jesus are becoming one.
This goes on for many miles, but gradually you notice another change. The footprints inside the large footprints seem to grow larger. Eventually they disappear altogether. There is only one set of footprints they have become one. This goes on for a long time, but suddenly the second set of footprints is back. This time it seems even worse! Zigzags all over the place. Stops. Starts. Gashes in the sand. A variable mess of prints. You are amazed and shocked. Your dream ends.

Now you pray: "Lord, I understand the first scene with zigzags and fits. I was a new Christian; I was just learning. But you walked on through the storm and helped me learn to walk with you."

"That is correct."

"... And when the smaller footprints were inside of Yours, I was actually learning to walk in Your steps; followed you very closely." "Very good. You have understood everything so far."

"... When the smaller footprints grew and filled in Yours, I suppose that I was becoming like you in every way."

"Precisely."

"So, Lord, was there a regression or something? The footprints separated, and this time it was worse than at first."

There is a pause as the Lord answers with a smile in his voice. "You didn't know? That was when we danced."

To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: A time to weep, a time to laugh, a time to mourn, and a time to dance.

Isn't that a wonderful story??!! I hope it was!! =)

A story with many lessons!! Firstly, we got to walk in the path of righteousness then can only our footprints be in the footprints of Jesus. When we do not walk according to the path that Christ has laid before us, then as you have read in the story, our footprints become messy, there is not a single, neat, pair of footprints. There are circles, turnarounds and so forth.

When we obey him and follow His ways, then slowly our footprints would become parallel to the footprints of Jesus. When we go through storms of life, and when we see that there is only one pair of footprints, do not worry, because He is carrying us.

Finally after journeying with the Lord, we begin to see our footprints in the footprints of Jesus and finally our footprints merge into His as ONE! Eureka !!!!

But all of a sudden, our footprints become messy and out of control, and we panic and worry. Do not be anxious, because we have become victorious in our Christian life journey. That was the time when we and Jesus danced and celebrated!!

In conclusion to that, remember Jesus is with you in your everyday journey and there is always a time and season for everything under the sun...=)

THE YEARLY VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2007

has finally come to an end!!

Though I am so tired, well not only me, I am sure all the facilitators of this event, Ranch Bosses of each Group, and Crew Leaders are absolutely EXHAUSTED, but I know this one thing for sure:

ALL OF YOU WILL MISS THE CHILDREN!!!.. CAUSE I MISS THEM TOO!!

Well honestly, eventhough you have to tell them again and again not to do this and not to do that, teach them how to do, take care of them so that they won't drown in the pool, SOME gave you so much STRESS and made you so ANGRY that your BLOOD PRESSURE shot up to its MAX, on the verge of EXPLODING, yet we all still MISS them and LOVE them!! Am I right?? Give me a "WAH-HOO" ??!!... if you agree!! haha..jk jk

I really really do MISS them. Knowing that I would miss them, I had to take individual shots of each child in my group, to keep it as memory. Hoping to look at it when I am old and laughing away when thinking of all the cute and mischevious acts commited by them..XD Well who knows, I might see this one child again??!! But I hope deep down in my heart that they will join us again in this wonderful yearly event by GCC!! =)

Just a brief picture of this years VBS - the AVALANCHE RANCH ADVENTURE - A Wild Ride Through God's Word.

There were five teams: Skye, Shadow ( my team), Ranger, Buc, and Boss.

This year, VBS made a new attendance record - over 280 children came!! That was a miracle and we thank God for that !!! God just knows how to draw children in =) He is just great!

But most importantly, many souls were commited to the Lord, souls were saved, and lives were recommited again!!

In conclusion to that,

I AM TIRED BUT I HAD A WONDERFUL, FANSTATIC, BOMBASTIC TIME!!

Mum, do you know that today is a very very special day!!?? 26th November...was the day you were born.

Very sorry that I did not make you a card, or gave you a flower. However, instead of making you a card or giving you a flower, I wanted to do something different and that is writing my deepest gratitude as your son on this blog - letting those who read know how great a mum you are to me.

I am glad that I have a mum like you. There were occasions when you did not allow "that thing" to be the way I wanted, and in my frustration and anger, I sometimes felt that I would rather have a mum that would allow me to do what I want.

But as years go by and as I have grown in maturity, looking back at how you stopped me from doing the things I wanted, has made me the person I am today. And I am glad that you placed a stop to it before matters got bad or worst.

I am sorry for quarreling with you and arguing with you over unimportant matters. Sorry for the times when I hurt your feelings. I hope that you will forgive me. Sorry for the times when I made you angry and upset, because of all my nonsense and stupidity. Thank you for being so patient with me. Tolerating all the problems that I gave you, be it at home or in school.

You could have put a stop to all the problems that I gave you by throwing me out of school and placing me in a public school, but you did not. And I am indeed grateful!! Thank you..=)

Mummy, thank you for all the painful sacrifices you made to raise jie jie, ling ling and myself all these years. I pray that all the strength, time, labor, wisdom, and tears that you have given to us, God will return to you in blessings : press down, shaken, and overflowing!

Thank you for teaching me, whether it is the Word of God or the Lifepacs, cooking for me, providing for all my essential needs, correcting me, directing me in the right path, and most importantly, thank you for LOVING ME!! hehehe..=)

One very amazing thing about my mum is, she is able to teach us something that she herself is not very good in. She is able to teach so well, that we have become much better than her. Not many people are able to do that.

For example you are not really good in a certain subject, and you are given the responsibility to teach someone else the subject. When you teach the person, the person is able to understand, and in the end do fantastically well in it.

My mum is that kind of a person. =)

In conclusion , I would want to wish my wonderful mum a:

Mum, I pray that God will grant you the very desires of you heart and withhold not the requests of your lips. Continue to grow in wisdom, in stature, and in favor with God and man. I declare that the:
